Common Thread Contemporary Worship 9:15am - Carson Hall
Traditional Worship 11am - Sanctuary
Come as you are. Worship with Us.
Worship is at the heart of our life together. Each Sunday, we gather to hear Scripture, pray, sing, receive the good news of God’s grace, and be renewed for lives of love and service.
St. James offers two distinct styles of worship, but we remain one congregation. Whether we gather in the relaxed setting of Common Thread or among the hymns and liturgy of Traditional Worship, we come with the same hope: to encounter God, grow in faith, and be shaped into the people Christ calls us to be.
There is room in worship for joy and sorrow, certainty and questions, quiet reflection and wholehearted praise. Wherever you are on your journey, you are welcome to worship with us.
Two Services, One Church
At St. James, we gather for worship in two different styles, but we are one church united in Christ.
Common Thread offers a contemporary worship experience with modern music in a relaxed setting, while remaining rooted in Scripture, prayer, and the richness of Christian liturgy.
Traditional Worship draws on the beauty of historic hymns, liturgy, choir music, and the rhythms of the Christian tradition, inviting us to worship with reverence, joy, and hope.
Though the music and atmosphere differ, both services proclaim the same gospel, celebrate the same sacraments, and invite us to grow together as one community of faith.
Music in Worship
Music is one of the ways we respond to God’s grace and give voice to our faith.
In Traditional Worship, the Sanctuary Choir leads the congregation through hymns, choral music, and the rich musical heritage of the Church.
In Common Thread, the Praise Band leads worship with contemporary songs that encourage joyful participation and heartfelt praise.
Whether accompanied by organ, piano, guitar, or voices lifted together, music helps us pray, celebrate, lament, and remember God’s faithfulness.
