Love God. Love your neighbor. Love in action.
Our faith doesn't end when worship is over.
Backpack Buddies is one of the ways St. James helps care for children and families in our community. By providing food for weekends and school breaks, we help make sure local students have something to count on when school meals are not available.
Want to be part of it? You can help by donating needed food items or joining us to pack bags for students.
Backpack Buddies
The Bread Ministry began in 2000. Teams of volunteers collect bread donated by local bakeries. This bread is repackaged at St. James and distributed to area agencies.

Play Café is a welcoming gathering place for caregivers and children (birth through age 5) to connect, play, and build community. Each week, families enjoy free play in our dedicated Play Café space while caregivers have the opportunity to meet, encourage one another, and form new friendships.
Participation is free, but registration is requested. Check the schedule for upcoming dates and details.

ASP
For many years, St. James has served alongside Appalachia Service Project (ASP), helping make homes in Central Appalachia warmer, safer, and drier. Youth and adults from our congregation have spent weeks repairing homes, building relationships, and experiencing the joy of serving alongside Appalachian communities.
ASP remains a beloved part of the mission story of St. James, and we look forward to forming new teams and returning to this meaningful ministry in the coming year.
Stephen Ministry offers confidential, one-to-one Christian care for people walking through grief, loss, illness, transition, or other challenging seasons of life. St. James is blessed to have trained Stephen Ministers who provide a listening presence, prayer, and compassionate support.
If you or someone you know could benefit from this kind of care, please contact the church office to learn more.
